Windows XP is one of most popular releases versions from Microsoft, but its days are numbered. On April 8, 2014 Microsoft will end support for Windows XP.
What does this mean for you if you are still using Windows XP? It means that programming errors that can allow malware and hackers to compromise your system will no longer be patched. This will leave your system wide open, and compromise you security.
How can I extend the life of my Windows XP system? I wouldn't recommend that you continue using Windows XP after April 8th, but Microsoft Security Essentials will continue to provide malware protection up to July 15th, 2015. This will at least provide a semi-secure system.
